    Series X Capture last 5 minutes


    Having struggled with recording "last 5 minutes" I contacted support, first with a gamer then with a specialist. We went through several troubleshooting steps before I was told the Series X cannot record the last 5 minutes (even though the option exists
    in the menu).

    Turns out "the most powerful console ever" cannot do something the original Xbox One can, without the addition of an external drive.

    If it is truly not capable, the option should be removed.

    Problem with Xbox Series X Game Capture

    I would like to have an answer to this as well. 1080p captures on the Series X appear to be capped at 1 minute now. Not only is this laughably low, to the point of uselessness, but this was never communicated to us. It looks like it was a stealth change that shipped with a console update about 3 months back. The PS5's capture settings are far and away superior to what we have on the Series X. Even the Xbox One allowed 2-min 1080p and 5-min 720p captures.

    Is there something wrong with the long-form recording option in my Xbox One X? Unable to reliably record for longer periods.

    I have a very, very fast Samsung ssd. It was 200 bucks i think last year for 1 tb. Same issue with xbox one x. I only capture in 4k hdr. Beyond that its pointless. So now, i don't capture. Xbox series x..... come on down!

    Theres a couple of options I believe

    1. you can hit ->home guide->last 15 secs to last 5 minutes

    2. You go into the capture and share tab ->capture settings-> record what happened->15secs to 5mins

    brandi when you say Xbox Record That it only records the last 30 seconds. However you can say xbox snap Game DVR and the select up to the last 5 minutes to be captured

    One Xbox One S and X. Max record time in DVR is 5 minutes with the resolution at 720p. On Xbox One. The DVR max is 15 minutes at 720p. All these settings are found under the Broadcasting and Capture section in Preferences in the settings. Although. That
    is odd that the S and X have a shorter time.
