    series x backwards compatibility

Hello i'll be buying the new series x when it gets released , my question is about backwards compatibility , now i understand that some older xbox games had licenses back in the day and some of those licenses can't be renewed , but for those of us that still
own the original games discs , e.g D&D heros , gauntlet dark legacy , and other titles , will patches be offered to us so that we can play these games on the new series x , as i know that in the past consoles this option wasn't offered ? just seems a real
shame that I still have to keep my OG xbox just to be able to play these games when the newer consoles that are quite capable of running these cannot because of a license issue .

surely licensing wouldn't be an issue if the person owned the og game disc and all that needed to be done was supply a simple patch to allow that game to run on a new console .

Any info on this or help would be greatly appreciated thanks .

    :)

It will probably become backward compatible with series x. In this moment the backward compatibility project for xbox one has been stopped, waiting for series x

And, if it were not backwards compatible, you might have to wait until the release of Xbox Series X, as they have said they have stopped working on bringing Backwards Compatible titles to Xbox One until the Series X launch to get Backwards Compatibility
up and running on the Series X. Form there, I imagine they will move back to bringing titles to both Series X and Xbox One for a few more years.

No further backward-compatible releases are planned as the team prepares for the launch of Xbox Series X. Reportedly, the Series X will be fully backward compatible with any release on the previous consoles, so there is a chance that it may well be playable.

Games to be Added for Backwards Compatibility Xbox Series X

Anything that currently works on Xbox one with very few exceptions will work on series X. If a game is not currently backwards compatible, the backwards compatibility program is currently suspended until after the series X launch with no guarantee to resume.
