Series S won’t let me play disc games that I copied from my Xbox One

No digital console works that way

Your only option is to buy digital copies or buy a disk based console for.disks games

I am afraid playing disc-based games on an Xbox Series S is not possible due to the console not having a disc drive. Game copies can't be converted from physical to digital, and vice versa. Unfortunately, we aren't entitled to a digital copy of the game even if we have a physical copy. You will still be able to play your game disc on console’s that have disc drive but I am afraid it won’t work on Xbox series S.!

It is compatible with a Series X. It is not compatible with the One or a Series S since it doesn't have a disc drive.

According to my Xbox Series X|S, the disc is “incompatible”, and I can only play a compatible version of it if I pay $62.99 for a new copy WITH EA Play.

The FAQ states the following:

• If you’re playing from disc on Xbox Series X|S, you’ll need to keep the disc inserted to play that game.
  

This implies if I bought a disc and installed on my xbox one, I would require the disc to play on my Series S. However the Series s is discless. I don't understand how a physical disc can state smart delivery for the Series S.
