    Series S SSD

Hey all. My son managed to break the hdmi port on his series s and it now doesn't work. It actually broke the PCB too. I got a new motherboard from eBay but it won't power up with his original SSD installed. It seems the SSD somehow links to the original motherboard. So I now have a motherboard and SSD combo that won't work. Is there a way to reformat the SSD so we can at least get a functioning console?

    Cheers

    Dan

I need help with my series s

It's because the Series S/X are new gen. They require the xbox SSD. You are using an HDD. SSD's are way faster than an SSD, the series s is trying to run the 120fps and higher graphics. Thats why they are telling you to move the games. It wants you to play them on the internal SSD storage.

Why can’t I play games direct from seagate hard drive??

Are you using a Series S/X?

Series S/X optimized games can only run from the internal SSD or an expansion card made specifically for the Series S/X.

Which Xbox was the first to come with SSD?

An Xbox One model had a hybrid hard drive/SSD. Now currently the Xbox Series X|S only has a SSD drive in it.

2tb SSD only showing 465 gigs as full amount

It's a series s and the ssd is a Seagate back up plus slim it is USB 3.0

Why does my friend have to copy a game from his external to his internal hard drive?

If he has a Series S/X and is trying to play a Series S/X optimized game, it will only run on the internal drive or on an expansion card made for the Series S/X. It won't run on a regular external hard drive or SSD.
