Series S keeps dropping WiFi when logging in/streaming

Hey!

This is my first Xbox in many years and we just purchased the Series S 2 weeks ago.

We’re having issues streaming any TV on it (Netflix/Disney+) and logging into our profiles.

The error codes/messages say there is a connection issue although our other devices are working fine. It’s unpredictable, can take 5-10 times of attempting to watch a program before it works but occasionally starts straight away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I changed the wireless channel thing (I’m not very tech savvy) and it may have worked- it’s loaded much faster and only had an issue once all day. plus our other devices are running a bit quicker too. Thank you

The connection drops while playing online in FIFA and all games, which is annoying

depends on a number of factors

1. best to use wired connection not wifi, regardless of speeds.

2. depends on what game you are playing, some games stress or use all the resources of the series s and therefore you will have poor streaming performance.

If you say your entire WiFi is going down, then it's probably an issue with your WiFi router, not the Xbox itself.

Check the router manual, if there is a system log that you can read, maybe the router logs the issue and has some troubleshooting hints.

As an entertainment device, the console shouldn't be able to bring down a WiFi network in a way that you describe, and I'd rather guess that the issue is with your WiFi router, that drops the WiFi when it encounters an unexpected error, that just coincidently
happens when you play GTA.
