    Series S issues - won't turn on fully?


    hi -

    my series s (after working absolutely fine this morning) now just beeps and lights up the logo button; but doesn't do anything beyond that. controller doesn't connect (just flashes) when plugged in, and no fan noise or display.

    have disconnected power for 30 mins+ and still nothing. is this a known issue at all?

    It sounds like your Xbox Series S may be experiencing a hardware issue if it is not turning on properly and only flashing. However, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    Try resetting the console by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it fully turns off, then turn it back on.

    Check that your Xbox Series S is connected to the same network as your Windows 11 laptop. You can do this by going to the Settings app on your Xbox, then selecting Network > Network settings.

    Ensure that your Xbox Series S is set up for remote play by going to the Settings app on your Xbox, then selecting Devices & connections > Remote features. Make sure that the "Enable remote features" option is turned on.

    Hi,

    There is more than enough bandwidth for 1440P @120Hz with HDR on an HDMI 2.0 Monitor. On the current consoles Microsoft decided to lock HDR to 4K displays, but with the Series S that won't be an issue anymore.

    HDMI standards are backwards compatible, so you won't need an HDMI 2.1 compliant Monitor to use Series X or S on an older monitor or TV that only has HDMI 2.0.

    Xbox One X and S can be very fussy when it comes to full monitor support. But if you bought a monitor that fully supports the Xbox One X then it should support the same features on a Series X/S.

    My advice would be to check reviews of monitors actually running on the current consoles with 120Hz support. There are loads of videos on YouTube. Just looking at the specs on a website may not be enough.

    Xbox Series X|S controllers are fully compatible with the Xbox One, One S and One X. Also the Xbox One controllers work on the new Series consoles.

    I apologize for that, Leslie but in this case, it may mean that the console needs to be repaired. You can also have it checked in any of your local repair shop.
