Series S Games stutter and lag when an external hdd is attached

I'm not sure what the deal is, I have 2 external hdd USB 3.0 drives that store my old Xbox one/360 games.

My series s games are installed on the internal drive.

However, when my external drives are connected. It causes my games on my internal to stutter/lag. As soon as I unplug the external drives my games on my internal run butter smooth.

It's almost like my console is sharing some kinda data with my internal games on the external drives and it's causing things to lag up.

Anyone else experience or know why this would happen, and how to fix it.

Could be that some data on the external drive it's corrupted, but usually to solve this is necessary to format the external storage and then configure it again for the Xbox to store games and redownload the games

Just attach an external hdd and copy them over

Now if it's a digital only console like series s or Xbox one s digital then only digital games will work

Network transfer can take awhile a HD transfer is faster

And doesn't require both consoles to be connected to a tv

Do you have the one s or the series s

The one s is NOT series console

Also it MUST BE installed on the internal or external storage card not.external hdds

Next gen games cannot be installed on external hdds as they are just too slow

With the current state of.calisto protocol.it's best not.to use Ray tracing unless you have a series x as even high end pcs have trouble with it

You can use USB external SSD drives on Series X/S or you can buy a 2.5" PC SSD and attach it to a SATA to USB 3.1 adaptor.

These drives are a lot faster than a standard USB 3 external HDD. However, you can only play Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox BC titles directly from them. Series X/S games can only be played from the internal drive or the optional Expansion Card.

Fyi series consoles are just xboxes series x or s

Not xbox one series

Just to reduce the confusion

You gotta remember people mistake xbox one x for a series x when it comes to requirements for example flight simulator

With xbox one games they don't have a listing for s or x they are all compatible

Where series s or x just means digital or disk

Disk games don't work with series s or one s digital edition

Back to your problem.

Are you using an external hdd ?

Also when it slows down again is it because you are filling up your hdd?

As space becomes less computers do slow down

It would be better to get an external drive and put infrequent games on there so you don't too much things on your internal drive
