Series S controller battery level

I have an odd issue I noticed today with my Series S controller. My Series S is brand new (less than 5 days old).

The battery level indicator is wrong. It keeps showing Medium. With the original batteries it showed Full and went down like it's supposed to until I had to replace the batteries. I have put 3 pairs of brand new Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries in it and they all show the level at Medium. I even tried brand new normal AA's and the same issue.

I have powered the controller off, waited a few minutes, and turned it back on. I get the same results.

Any ideas, thoughts, or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I understand you need help regarding your controller.

Have you already tried checking for updates and see if the controller needs an update?

You may do that by following this guide:

If in any case that the controller is already updated, try reverting the update and see if it makes any difference with the issue.

Here is how you revert your controller:

Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then go to Profile & system > Xbox Support > Get Help > Help topics > Console & accessories > Controller > My controller has connection issues after the last update. Select Check controller firmware to open the controller firmware reversion screen in the Xbox Accessories app, and then follow the instructions in the app.

If it does not work still, I would prefer sending the controller for service.

The Series X controllers available now uses the same official battery packs as the Xbox One and Series S controllers.

I am are using play and charge kit on the xbox series x wireless controller it is are not official one but it is are working on the controller perfectly fine but the indicator does show medium battery level at all times and sometimes it does show fool battery level rather than that it is are working properly in the right way on the series x controller without any issues.

But then if it;s the wrong battery pack, it shoudn't work with either controller ...the fact it works in one but not the other points to an issue with the second controller

The Xbox One Venom battery pack won't even fit in the Series X controller (or at least not without trimming bits off it)..as the OP can fit the pack with no issue, it suggests it's the right battery pack. Unless Venom have released more than one battery pack for the Series X?

i have same issue

Xbox Series S controller freezes and disconnects but the light on the controller stays on,
The problem happened to me a lot and the batteries are new, and i did power cycle, The device and the control were updated
