series 2 electrical shocks (not static electricity)

for the first time since purchase in May this year. my xbox elite series 2 gives me electrical shocks while handling controller or put it anywhere (paddles touched against my body0. Some say it's static electricity and only 3 volts so how could it harm you...further the body is made of plastic material. What I'm about to say may raise more explanations that really are an opinion and not based on any kind of facts.

I took hold of my c type plug in cable end (with controller unplugged) it gave me the same shock...and would continue to shock long as I held it...that is not static electric discharge.

Controller (plugged into pc ) shocks from paddles. And is hard to hang on to that shock...that would have drained out a capacitor or static electricity charge....if 3 volts well someone needs to hold on the end of my cable and tell me what they thinks of this charge or shock...etc.

Conditions surrounding this: today has been like several high humidity due to lots of rain in the area....I've removed the paddles and there is no shocks coming from the controller.

Please note: I had unplugged the controller while writing this message so conditions could have changed and will now test to see if shock is still there (putting paddles back)...The shock is back...so the contact is by the paddles.

I don't recommend people hold onto any shocking part...use a volt ohm meter as it will measure a voltage (SET HIGH VOLTS OR COULD DAMAGE METER) and you won't get shocked...Looks like the paddles will have to be made from non conductive material....

One last thing...for the first time since owning this controller...I left it plugged in all night...tired and went to sleep not unplugging my controller all night.

Hope this helps others with temp repair till a final resolution can be found. Larry

I can confirm that the Xbox Elite 2 controller has issues with conducting electricity through the paddles.

I am getting shocked as well.

The Xbox Elite 2 controller needs to be recalled immediately.

Since the USB port puts out a max of 5 volts at 1 Amp or less, it is highly unlikely it was an electrical shock. You touched metal and discharged static electricity most likely.

If i was you i would send a email, this is wierd because normally RCA jacks works on low voltages so maybe there is somting wired wrong or you just have a bad cable.

Hey there Obsidian! If you are having issues with electrical shocks, please unplug the console from the wall and the TV to prevent any further damage. If this issue is coming from the console, you should set up a repair. If it's from the TV, you should use
your console with a different TV to avoid any harm. I hope this helps, thanks!
