Serial # of the Xbox One Stereo Headset for Replacement?

Dear Community,

My Xbox1 Stereo Headsets have stopped transmitting voice properly. I can hear in game sound and chats without a problem but I do not transmit. This started shortly after the XBE update in November. I've updated the controller with the adapter head set, reset
cache of Xbox, and ensured the headset is properly plugged in like it always was when it worked.

The next suggestion that I've seen is turn in the head set, but I've thrown out the box and cannot find the receipt.
How do I find the S/N on my headset? So I can register it for a replacement or service with Xbox? Thank you.

Xbox One Headset Interface Problems

I can understand your frustration with all the bad luck you have been having. And, for the record, I am not part of the Microsoft staff nor an Xbox customer support employee. But, I can say that we have 2 Xbox Ones and 1 Xbox One S, and 2 of the

Xbox One Stereo Headsets. And, both headsets work well, with and without the
Stereo Headset Adapters, on all our Xboxes.

Stereo Headset Adapter as Audio Source only

With the Stereo Headset Adapter for Xbox One, most headphones with a 3.5mm headphone jack will play game audio!

If you have had it longer than 90 days and you are sure it is broken (can you test it on a friend's console?) you would probably be better off just purchasing another one.

Hi there!

As above, make sure that the headset is faulty before sending it in for repair. The best way to do this is to test it on a friend's console.

If it is faulty, there is no need for a serial number. Just sign in to
http://myservice.xbox.com and register your Xbox console's serial number (if you haven't already done that). Then select "replace an accessory", and you should be able to select to return your headset for repair/replacement.

What do I click on after I selected "replace an acessory"? It pops up to select a device, do I choose my Xbox?

Yes, select your Xbox One console that you have registered, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi,

If your Xbox One Stereo Headset isn’t functioning correctly, check the following:

Have you updated your controller’s software to support the Stereo Headset Adapter?
Make sure your controller has fresh batteries. When the batteries get weak, some controller functions, such as audio and rumble, are turned off to conserve the remaining power.
Make sure your Headset Adapter is firmly plugged into your controller and that your Stereo Headset’s 3.5-mm cable is securely plugged into the Headset Adapter. You will know it’s plugged in properly if you press the mute button and the LED lights up.
Try your Xbox One Stereo Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working. If not, the headset will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox
Online Service Center .
Try your Stereo Headset and Stereo Headset Adapter on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try updating
the first controller again. If that fails, the controller will need to be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online Service Center .
