Serial number is different on the back of my Xbox 360

Joeyndawn6, could you give me more detail exactly what you need to do with your console's serial number? The serial number for the console is unique and there's no way it can vary, unless the label or even the case has been changed on that console.

The console ID can only be found in the Xbox Dashboard. The console ID is different from the console serial number.

Go to settings and select System.

Select Console Settings.

Select System Info. The console ID is displayed on the screen, below the console serial number (which is also displayed on the screen).

The Xbox 360 console serial number is located in three places:

On the front of the console, behind the oval USB door

On the back of the console, above the A/V port

On the System Info screen in the Xbox Dashboard (along with the console ID, as described in the previous section)

I don't recall having to ever enter a SSN when I got my 360 repaired back when the old white one was first out. It is asking for your consoles serial number.

Go to the settings and
find the system info.

You should see the serial number that the Xbox reads from the motherboard.

If it matches the serial number on the sticker on the back of the console, the original motherboard should still be intact.
