    I sent my XBOX One, that is approximately 9 months old in for Warranty repair. It will not stay on. They sent it back to me with a letter saying I had opened or modified it and the warranty was voided. This is the biggest bunch of crap I have ever heard.
    I have done nothing to the XBOX One but they will not fix it. Now Microsoft is saying I should take it back to Best Buy, where I originally purchased it and say that I have a tampered product.

    you can contact xbox support at support.xbox.com/contact-us who can setup a repair for you I can tell you this much if your console was under warranty (they come with a one year warranty from original purchase date when it was new) by opening up the console
    you just voided the warranty. and doing a repair through xbox support they will just send it back to you saying that the console was tampered with and not repair it. you may be able to find a local game store around your area that can repair it for you.

    Hi Jupetzi! Sorry to say, but you probably have a bad DVD drive. Now because you cracked it open, the warranty is now voided and cannot be sent in for a repair per the Warranty agreement. Sadly Microsoft does not attempt to repair tampered, modded, or
    banned consoles. If your console is sent in for repair it will be sent back to you.

    On a brighter note, you can buy a new Xbox 360 E with a 500GB Hard Drive at the Microsoft Store complete with a one year warranty -

    same thing here. Said i modified or tampered and voided my warranty. They are all just trying to get out of spending more money. I believe you should be protected by this under the mmwa statute. They should not be able to void a warranty due to a small
    place on the side of a unit. Anything could bump the Xbox and leave a small place of notice on it. This is a terrible setup by Microsoft and a horrible way to treat the loyal customers who have always been there to support them. Disgraceful and disappointing.

    From what I can tell this is a known issue and if under warranty Microsoft will take it back and repair it. If you have voided the warranty or the time on said warranty has ran out, then there is no way to get a free repair. The only way to fix without
    paying (if warranty has been voided) would be to increase the dead zones. Past that i cannot be of much help

    If it's new enough, I would take it back from where you purchased it from or send it back for repair. If you mess with it in any way with it being under warranty, you could in fact void the warranty by messing with it.
