Sennheiser 598 Astro mix amp and zalman mic. Please help

Do yourself a favor and stay away from all these "Gaming" headsets. Whether its Turtle Beach or Tritton, its all garbage. Get yourself a good pair of stereo headphones, Zalman mic and a USB adaptor from mono price. If you can afford it, get the Astro 7.1
Mixamp. Just stay away from the headphones. A good pair of Sennheisers would be your best choice such as the HD 598's but if on a budget, go for something like the Samson SR850's which are down to $50 on Amazon. And while you don't exactly need it if on a
budget, definitely consider picking up that Astro Mixamp at a later date. Those Samson Headphones with Zalman Mic and adaptor would run you about $70. Those headphones and Mic with the Mixamp would run you $190. Either way, your audio is going to sound better
than even a $300 pair of Trittons or Turtle Beaches.

Since the 598's are 50 Ohms, you would need an amp. Your best bet would be the Astro Mixamp Pro if you don't mind spending the $130. You can add a Mic for an additional $7.50 to $50 depending on which one. The 598's are regarded as one of the best headphones
you can buy for gaming. Paired with the Mixamp and a Mic, you have a near perfect setup.

I just use the cheap Zalman ZM-Mic1 which is highly sensitive but sounds great if you turn down your Mic gain. The Antlion Modmic 4.0 is noise cancelling, has mute and connects to your headphone grill with a magnet. This is $50.

Sennheiser PC 363D and Astro Mix Amp Pro, both only for $400. Gives good performance.

When you wear out the Astro's Check out Sennheiser. They make PC headsets but you can use them on a console if you have an Astro Mixamp. The Mic quality is ok on Astro's but not the best. I use a Sennheiser Game One with my Astro Mixamp Pro. The Mic
quality on the Senns rivals most stand mics and the depth of sound produced is so much better than Astro. Astro's do get very loud, but they are kinda lacking in the Bass.

Looking into this, I already have a pair of Sennheiser PC360's, along with an Astro Mix Amp. If I hook this up, will I need an adapter for the controller? Presumably the headset plugs into the mix amp, which in turn plugs into the XBox itself, theoretically
eliminating the need for the adapter? Will this work?
