Sending xbox one s console for warranty, can't erase data

Thanks for the help, that makes sense. I'll make sure to change my password.

First if necessary the service center will do a wipe of the system which would erase your data on there.

Second if you feel that their might be a possibility of your data being stolen from the console you can change the password on your account and if someone were to try and sign in with your account on the console it would require them to put in the new password
to get access to your account.

Hello again, your last paragraph may have given you an important clue as to what's going on, you mention that the controller worked normally on your friend's Xbox one s console, if that happened, your Xbox One S wi-fi card may be defective, so the controller can't stay connected.

Ideally in this case would be to send your console to Microsoft warranty, if it is out of warranty you can also use Microsoft's paid repair service.

You can try a reset that erases everything on the console, and if it continues to act this way it would be ideal to test it on another network before sending it in for Microsoft warranty.
