    Sending Xbox One off for repair, should I factory reset before sending?


    So I've had a graphics problem with my xbox which involves stretches and tears in game, anyway I'm sending it off for 'repair' and wondered if I needed to factory reset my Xbox to get rid of my details etc, as they didn't state if I needed too. Thanks.

    Vorpal1986 you should of read the OPs post you would see his issue as been sorted, Also people should use all options which are there to help them, Factory reset is the final option before sending for repair.

    Thanks for your replies gents!

    Just an update to the above since a I performed a factory reset my Xbox One seems to be working within its required parameters, and I've since not experienced any more powering on/off issues. If any of you are experiencing the same issues as me before sending
    off for the advanced repair or 10 day turn around repair try a factory reset! All data is held within the cloud so you have nothing to lose. I Hope this helps?     Yes, if you can, you might as well Factory Reset is before sending it in for repair because chances are that they are going to send a different console back anyway.

    But make sure you backup any gamesaves on the Cloud or a external hard drive before sending it in.

    Everything else will stay and you will be able to download it again on your new console (profiles, DLC etc.)

    But make sure you backup any gamesaves on the Cloud or a external hard drive before sending it in.

    Different issues

    That error usually means you need to factory reset it offline or send it in for repairs.

    Paul from the Xbox Forums Team here to answer your question. Typically before sending in a console for a repair the last troubleshooting step to try would be to perform a full factory reset. Once you've

    performed a full factory reset     and the problem still persists that's when a repair should be fully considered. After you perform a full factory reset the console will be set as though it was a brand new console with no new information. I hope I was able
