Sending Off Xbox Elite Controller for Replacement

Anything that is user-removeable should be kept in your possession. You'll never know if you get it back or not according to their repair terms, so it's best not to gamble. The controller and its innards are the only thing that's important
as far as a repair is concerned.

Microsoft's repair techs don't necessarily need the battery cover anyway when they do their thing. Just keep it.

Heck, they might just even send you a new one (but don't take my word for it).

The grip of my elite controller started coming off a few days ago, I keep trying to contact Microsoft about it but it's impossible, they send me to a website if I want to request a replacement controller and when I enter the number on the controller it says
it does not match the code for an Xbox product.

If you have your receipt try checking with the retailer you purchased from and see if you are able to get a replacement or refund.

If not despite previous comments, send in your controllers for repair or replacements. It's best if your console is still covered by warranty as you won't need to pay much at all or any for that matter.

SEND IN THE BARE CONTROLLER, keep the removable sticks and DPAD, as you will be sent back barebone controller.

You would need to try contacting support to see if there is anything they can do, but it is noted that when you send an elite controller in you should only send the controller. Nothing else is guaranteed to come back. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Important If you do need to send your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller to our service center, do not send removable parts with your controller. They will not be returned to you. Keep all
the removable D-pads, paddles, and thumb sticks. You'll receive a replacement controller without these parts, so you'll need to use those original parts with the replacement controller.

I wouldn't recommend sending your controller to be replaced, I was going to do mine but I was told by an agent on the phone that there isn't much stock and that the turn around to receive a replacement elite controller could be weeks if not months.
