sending messages frome pc to one of my friends

From the below it appears that the default is text and if you want to send voice you have to select the microphone.

Send messages to friends

To send messages to one of your friends through Xbox One:

Sign in to Xbox Live.

On your Xbox One Wireless Controller, press the Xbox button.

Go to the Friends hub and select Friends online.

Highlight the friend's gamertag, and then press the A button on your controller.

Select Send and then select Message to send a text message, or select the microphone icon to send a voice message.

Enter or record your message.

When finished, select Send.

Sword, I don't have enough money to buy a mobile device to use Smartglass and my PC is across the house. I'm not going to run laps back and forth just to send messages to my friends. I would welcome voice messages - it enables me to send funny messages to
friends, like my impressions, that make them laugh and smile.

Besides, so much is lost in translation with text messages. With voice messages, it becomes more personable and in some cases, emotional.

hello, Mr. Rostom I tried sending messages to my friends through the Xbox mobile app, and it worked, but the problem persists in the Xbox PC app.

No hardware frome X360 was compatible at all with Xbox One, sorry...

If you don't like typing with the controller on your console, then you could pick up the Chatpad or a cheap USB keyboard.
