Sending codes between US and UK

I've still got my FIFA 14 QR code from my Xbox One Launch pack. My friend has expressed an interest and I'd like to give him the code. I'm thinking I could email a photo of it to him. Problem is that he's in the US and I'm based in the UK.

Will he be able to redeem my code using a US account?

Would he be able to purchase a QR code or gift certificate for Microsoft points that I could redeem in the UK store?

Looking at the code itself, there's no language about only being valid in UK stores. Here are some images I found:

Anyone had experience working with both US and UK stores?

XB1 game release dates between US and UK.

Video games, Music and DVDs are always released on Tuesdays in the US.

XB1 game release dates between US and UK.

In the U.K. dvd's etc. get released on a Monday & games on a Friday.It's been like that for as long as i can remember.

It should be fine mate

Games and XB1 are now region free. So it SHOULD work...

A family member of ours came over for the holidays and downloaded a game he bought on xbox.com US store since his GT is US and it works on my console.

Albert Penello has stated this as much as MS understands we have family from different regions etc

Thanks for the reply. I sent off the code and it worked for him. Didn't got he MS points route, instead he gave me money via Paypal.

It's probably worth pointing out that those FIFA 14 codes that came with EU Day One editions expire on 29th March 2014. So use it or lose it (or sell it).

You can not transfer codes between countries. This is going to be regulated for tax purposes. So the UK is going to want there tax money, that is why they cannot be transferred. And we are not able to swap out codes between countries. And if you send
your friend a gift card it would have to be in pounds not dollars.

No currency cards are region specific you can use the code but you won't be able to use it on a UK billing account

When your Xbox Live Region was UK were you buying the subscription for Xbox Uk or Lithuania? Did you buy that 12month code from the same place you usually do? What region is that code? Send us a little more information and we might be able to help
