Sending a gift code to Mexico from US

I was gonna surprise my boyfriend with Battlefield for Christmas and I cannot for the life of me figure this out.

I eventually had to spoil the idea and get him involved on figuring it out and even he's stumped.

We live in Mexico but the region of my account is US based (as well as my Xbox) so when I try to purchase it it says the code will only be redeemable for US residents. Is there a way around this? Changing my region or his region?

I'm not even sure if I'm explaining this correctly, but just looking for advice. Thank you!

Gifting is region locked. There is no way around that. Since you live in Mexico, you can migrate your account region to the correct region and as long as his account is set to Mexico as well, it will work.

Can you elaborate on this? How do I change the region?

I’m in a similar situation. I’m in USA and want to gift elden ring to Mexico but the religion lock won’t let me. Can I change my region to MX while being in the USA? Will that clear everything up? And how do I do that?

Do u know if there will there be difficulties with using my credit card from the US to purchase while my region on Microsoft acc is MX?

Far as I know, Digital Game codes don't have expiry dates.

And, if it's a gift, the code doesn't expire either (unless things have changed since the concept was introduced):

There's no way to bypass region restrictions. You would have to find a site that sells codes that would work for Mexico and send them the code from that.
