    Selling Xbox but need to delete account


    Hi everyone,

    I spoke to a (useless) Microsoft support staff member and didn't get any help. I am selling my Xbox. I want to keep the games that are on there so I can sell them to whoever buys it, but I also want to make sure my account is deleted so there is no trace
    back to any bank details I may have entered. Can anyone help me with this?

    Do I need to delete everything if I want to do this inc. games saved on the hardrive? I have Fallout 4 on disc and Fifa 17 on harddrive, so I am happy to lose that if it means successfully removing anything linked to me.

    I had the same problem, you need to delete the account of your xbox after that u can add the account back.
    Maybe that will also work for you.

    so if i reset the 1 im selling it will delete the account on the 1 im selling but my account will still be active on the console im using with same game tag account

    If the games that you want to sell with the system are digital games tied to your account then there is no way to do that without breaking the code of conduct.

    You can't sell the digital items as they are tied to your account.

    You account would need to remain on the console for someone else to access the games & that would violate the ToU/CoC.

    You would need to format the hard drive by going to "settings"/"system"/"console info"/"reset console" & choosing "reset & remove everything".

    That will delete your profile & all digital content on the console.
