Sell game rights

When I used to finish playing a game, I would sell the hard copy as used to help fund the buying of new games. Now there are digital copies, can I sell my digital copy?

No. Digital copies are tied to the account that purchased them and you cannot transfer ownership to another account.

 

The EU is implementing a law to allow the resale of digitally purchased games but it isn't in place at this time.

Steam, Origin, uPlay, GoG, Amazon PlayStation, Xbox etc will all have to build an infrastructure to handle such a ruling. Last I heard, there was no ETA on when that ruling would go into effect and be enforced.

The court case had very little to do with games if you read the actual case you wouldnsee that your case is invalid.

The actual court ruling was clear the actual you are quotjng added text rather then an actual law

First the case wasnt concerning games

Second it had nothing to dowith used games

The case itself ruled that if someone buys a bulk license and had unused licenses they could sell it

It also makes no memtioj of forcing anyone to make availabme the ability to trade

It says if the user wants to make use ofsale of a license thru a reseller they could except there is no legal reseller on private networks

And no court would force them

Xbox did have a option at one point to allow it but as the massive social media protest happened prevented it

Eu wouldve forced mintendo and ms and sony base onthe next gen systems if it was going to be legally plausiable

.ei has biggwr fish to fry like google surely they wouldve forced google to do it since the system is already inplace you can remove apps in phones from download history and software cause flash went away

"The exclusive right of distribution of a copy of a computer program covered by such a licence is exhausted on its first sale,"

A computer program, like for example, video games.

There aren't millions of Euro MP's who are the ones that would make the decision, not people living within the EU.
