Discus and support Self publishers in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; For the life of me i can not figure out why Microsoft finds it necessary to charge self publishers any where between $10,000 and 40,000 to patch/update...     For the life of me i can not figure out why Microsoft finds it necessary to charge self publishers any where between $10,000 and 40,000 to patch/update their game. SMH! Their are many indie games that could be on xbox (dayz) but self publishers are
    reluctant because of the outrageous And in my opinion uncalled for charges. we are in the era of next gen and it seems that only Sony cares about self publishers as they don't charge anything to update/patch indie games thats right its completely free. Please
    Microsoft stop being greedy and pull your heads out of your butts and think of the gamers and all the money you already get from us. If self publishers didn't have that fee and could update/patch for free there would be more indie games and more being sold
    which means you could still get your greedy hands on money. If some find this harsh then I'm sorry but since i have only owned xbox from the original to the 360 to the slim and now xbone and have spent sooooo much money i should feel like Microsoft is for
    the gamers but i don't i feel like Microsoft is for the Almighty dollar. Please Microsoft reconsider your position on Self publishers as some of them are geniuses. My rant is over. Please post if you agree and maybe they will listen.

    Microsoft's hollow words about self publishing

    XNA is not self publishing. XNA is handling limited publishing abilities, poorly.

    -

    self publishers handle distribution and payment themselves so the XNA issues dont come up for them. self publishers are going to be paying ms, the exact opposite of the XNA situation.

  5. Read the article you posted buddy. It does say they stopped charging for arcade game updates/ patches but nowhere does it mention indie games which my post is about. Do your research please!

    UPDATE: Fez developer Phil Fish is looking into whether Microsoft's new policy is retroactive, so he can finally patch Fez for free. Previously, it would have cost the indie developer "tens of thousands of dollars."

    If this indie developer is concerned about whether the free patches are retroactive, it seems implied that indie developers are included in the free title update/patching business.

    ^Exactly, it does apply to all indie devs. That's why FEZ finally had an update that fixed the game.
