Seemingly all my "backwards compatible" games no longer work on Xbox One X

Thank you for providing me with the disc IDs for those titles. I think those codes will be good for now as I look into this issue. I have provided the information you provided to one of my colleagues looking into this matter for me. You mentioned that you started to experience this issue after a November update, correct? Once I hear back from my colleague, I will reply with an update or troubleshooting steps if they provide me with any.

I am not downloading the games again because I have a physical copy of these games, not a digital copy and the only way to trigger a download/install of these games to play them is for the xbox to decide that these games are backwards compatible games (which they are but for some reason the xbox doesn't think so) and I don't want to have to pay again for something I already own. Unfortunately since the november backwards compatible update NONE of my games that previously worked work any more.

Solution 2 isn't a solution as the way backwards compatibility works on Xbox One is to download a recompiled version of the game off the internet, so Solution 1 will break any hope of Solution 2 working as I will no longer be able to download. but for arguments sake I tried Solution 2 on Saints Row 2 with the Saints Row 2 disk in the drive (which I already have installed on my Xbox) and it gives me the same error (0x8082000c).

I can give you a list of serial codes if I must but it's a lot of games that don't work, literally none of them work since the november update.

Okay. For the sake of being thorough here are the games I've tested and their disk IDs. I note that some of these seem to have more than 1 ID on that ring, I've tried to pick the outer most. These are all the backwards compatible games I have on hand. none of them worked:

I'll get to the IDs of these later but I've tested all these too and they also don't work. They all give the (0x8082000c) that the game isn't available here, which isn't true.

Yes I have tried this fix and it does in fact work. It's a very bizarre hacky solution but it does work. And once I got it to recognise my disk IS available through my phones hotspot the first time then every game I tried subsequently seemed to work on my normal connection. I had feared (and it would make more logical sense to me) that if it's about authentication that works through one network connection and not the other that would mean I'd have to use my hotspot every time I played a backwards compatibility program, but no, you only have to unstuck the bug once it seems.

After further investigation, we found that some users have been able to successfully trigger the game install by switching from their Wi-Fi to their hotspot after the disc install failed.

This is an issue that the team is aware of and is still actively investigating. For the time being, the ask is to Report a Problem from your console when this arises, in order to provide the best information possible to the engineering teams.
