    Seeking help to change profile name - NOT GAMERTAG


    I am new to Xbox. Initially set up a single sign in profile with both my children's name. Of course the kids want profiles of their own. So created a second profile, but I'm at a loss for how to modify the first profile so it's called only by one child's
    name instead of both. Please note, I do not wish to change the gamertag, only the profile name that is used to sign into the console. Is this possible? Anyone who can advise how to do this? After struggling with Microsoft's support system, I'm ready to stick
    my head in an oven and breathe deep.

    Messages will expire after 30 days, but like Juan Van said, block communication from the user, and submit a review for avoiding the player and you should be good to go! This article will help you out if you need some more help :)

    HI there,

    just to be sure, you can change the name on the profile here:
    https://account.microsoft.com/profile/

    If the name is already changed but you can't see it (yet) on the Xbox console, then it might be best to redownload the profile

    via the following steps

    1. Remove profile from the console (Make sure you know the account credentials for the account, since you will need them later)
    2. Just to be sure, perform the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    3. Redownload your profile
