Seeking decent chat headset

Hoping for some recommendations/suggestions on a chat headset. I have a couple full gaming headsets, but I'd like a new single ear chat headset for when I need to hear my surroundings. I've been through 5 MS chat headsets, and the mics always fail regardless
of how gently I treat them. I assume it might be because of where the plug connects to the adapter or controller. Seems like any brand of these on Amazon have wildly varying reviews. Do I keep throwing money at these things, or does someone know of a solid
choice? I'm using "new" controllers, with the 3.5mm plug.

Turtle Beach XLa + DSS2

Hello to all. This post is seeking out those who might have personal experience using any XB1 compatible headset with a DSS2.

I'm currently using TB XLa's that I bought and used for use on the 360 which work fine on XB1. However, party chat/Skype chat has always been softer, even at max volume than I'd like them to be.

Adjusting settings on the XB1 hasn't yielded desired results.

I've been seeking out ways to "BOOST" the volume in a relatively cheap method. I know the TB DSS2 is for Dolby Digital Processing. However, I'm curious as to if this will "BOOST" chat volume in any way. Does the volume *** on the DSS2 increase the output above
that of the headsets.

Sick of the basic headset

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with your Xbox One headsets. As Genesis1953 and Rqvg mentioned, there are warranties available for those. There are also other affordable options as well, Turtle Beach Recon Chat headset is a decent one!

Are chat headsets dead or something? It is becoming harder and harder to find a decent chat headset. Just purchased the Turtle Beach chat recon chat headset and was disappointed right out of the box. It's like Microsoft doesn't even make a genuine
chat headset anymore. Like they are all being discontinued or something. I want to be able to use my TV or speakers for in game sound and use the chat headset for communication with my friends and still be able to hear my in room surroundings all at the same
time. Every brand I research doesn't seem to make chat headsets.

I just use earbuds and use the mixer in the guid

Thanks for your help man. After research, im going with the Arctis 3 bluetooth. I actually wanted a decent wired headset for the ipad anyways so this accomplishes that while solving my chat issue.
