SEEKING ADVICE/HELP FOR CONNECTIVITY ISSUES

Okay so, I am currently living in Australia and and experiencing horrible connectivity to parties, games etc at peak times, I am on a wired connection, when I run a diagnostics test on my Xbox One, Download speed is 8.82mbs, Upload is 0.64 and my Ping is
really bad at 232ms. But a speed test on my PC is almost different and I'm running wireless on my PC Download speed is 9.94, Upload is 0.66 and my ping is seriously low at 23ms, I don't understand the usefull-ness of the wired connection, I've tried adding
manuel DNS ports, port forwarding, even bought a new router for the case. I'm not too tech savvy so any abbreviations may have to be simplified but thanks for any information.

Friendly advice: get a good hdmi cable to connect the set top box to the xbox one. This will help you mitigate any hdcp handshake issues.

you might want to try a wireless connection as it will be faster then the wired connection. make sure your have a dual band wireless n router and it is set to 20mhz. also make sure that the ports are open in the router to your xbox. If that don't work try
a factory reset on the router and set xbox as dmz. these will usually fix this issue. Also sometimes the xbox connectivity test will be allot different to the speedtest.net as they use different servers. let me know if this fixes it. feel free to post here

I am not sure why your wireless connection would be faster. I work tech support and hard wire is always faster and more stable on the whole. I think the issue with the ping test is, as was previously stated, it was run on two different servers, the PC test
probably closer to your location. What type of router are you using?

 

Wireless connections are never faster... wired is always best. Hard reset your router, check ether net cables etc if you are still getting a really bad connection then contact your ISP. Port forwarding is not always the solution to a problem, sometimes it
can cause more issues than what you are experiencing.

 

Agreed. Manual DNS, port forwarding/triggering, DMZ these are last resort options for various issues. As PrimeTime said, check the cables, try different cables if needed. Also, what is your modem/router combination?

 

Yes sorry I was wrong forgot Xbox one has the gigabit card then yes Xbox one would be faster with wire then wireless. As long as you are using a gigabit router and not 100mb router as wireless n would be 350 to 450mb network speed

Please keep in mind, that PC and Xbox One use different servers to test latency and some other parameters. As I've understand from Your post, You got issues only at some time, what exactly?
