    Hello all,

    I have two maps that I have been alternating between. Today I logged in and had a few console updates which I did. When I logged back into my game I was having some trouble with getting my character to show up and one of my maps loaded as an entirely new
    map when I clicked on it, as though I had clicked on new game. My character eventually loaded but all of my work is gone and I noticed my seed now says "0". My other map is still there and works fine. I tried clearing the cache and power cycling the game.
    What happened? Any suggestions?

    Why use seeds?

    Seeds are good, but sometimes random is more fun. I do believe we should have a seeds info thread so people can share there seeds.

    Do people still play that seed since the big update that changed the seeds. I mean, it's now almost a completely different seed, so what is still special about it?

    old seed not the same

    The algorithm that creates the world was changed in the 1.8.2 update, so seeds now produce completely different worlds than they did before. However, you can head over to minecraftforum.net and check out the

    1.8.2 seeds list     threat in the Xbox section of the forums. Plenty of great seeds there. :)

    Anyone found any good seeds?

    This Xbox version is too small for me to even put seeds in.

    I usually put seeds when I play on the PC version since the changes are way more noticeable.

    Will existing seeds change completely after the update? If I start a new world with a seed that I used before will it be the same just with added features (ravines, strongholds..) or will it be different completely?

    Unexplored world will be updated and all seeds changes but preexisting maps will stay the same
