Security settings don't import when I sign in on a different xbox?

I have my xbox purchases set to require my passkey. I allowed my son to use my xbox account on HIS xbox so he could play Fortnite. It turns out, when signed in on HIS xbox, none of my security settings are there and he can purchase anything he wants.

Why do my security settings not migrate when I sign in to a different xbox console?

Are my security settings console specific vs account specific?

    Thanks

    :)

    little concerned re security ...

The Xbox One has several options for sign-in that adopt different security measures, including facial recognition when you stand in front of the Kinect.

My suggestion would be for you to use a different method to sign in with your profile, instead of the auto sign in.

    Open Settings.

Select the Sign-in, security & passkey option (on the far left side, below the About me item).

Make the changes you want to be reflected in your sign in.

  3. The Auto-Sign In: Please Turn it Off!

    Hi there,

When you are logged into the account you don't want to auto sign-in, go to Settings > Sign-in, Security & Passkey. That's where you can turn off the Kinect Sign-in.

    I hope this helps.

The passkey that you set on your profile follows you to any Xbox One console you use.

The only way for a parent to override a content limitation is by entering his or her personal passkey.

  5. To add to what M3tal Daz3 said though

Does your son know your password because if the passkey is entered in wrong 3 times it will then ask for the password and if he knows the password for the account he would just have to enter in the password for your account.

Yes, I expected that to be true, however when I checked my security settings on my sons console, it said passkey not required. My son is eight years old, and I'm sure he doesn't know my passkey or my password, or how to navigate the security settings.

So, just to confirm the problem, I connected a spare xbox one console that I have and signed in as myself. I checked the sign-in and security settings and, AGAIN, it says passkey NOT required. I went back to my own console and double checked, and my settings
    say passkey required.

This should not be happening! What am I missing?

    Xbox 360 password

    Hi there,

for the Xbox 360 security works a little bit differently when using two step verification, which it sounds like that you are using it.
For the Xbox 360 it is needed to set up a app password to be able to sign in when using that type of addition security.
