    I need to change my son's privacy so that he can broadcast but he is not added to the

    "family" section, when I try to add him it says I can not complete the action because his profile is on the same xbox.

    We are on Xbox One.

    You need to add a security proof when the message comes up on the cosole, once added you won't be asked again

    Hi there! Please make sure that you are using the right parental account for your son's account. You can try to check if it's added by going to account.microsoft.com/family. Also, try to add your son's account to your console by using the parental account.

    You can manage privacy settings using the parent by going to account.xbox.com/settings

    You may also contact official xbox support to check the issue on their end.

    Well he won't be asked again unless he doesn't have access to a possibly outdated security proof. He'd be out of luck and just have to pay for Xbox live for that month, not be able to use it, and just deal for the 30 days it takes to add or change that info.
    Kinda like paying a months rent and not being allowed into your home cause they changed the locks and don't believe you're yourself.

    Microsoft Accounts now require 'proof' data, to allow you to 'prove' who you are using 'Two-Factor Verification'. This is wise given that off-the-shelf hardware and easily found open source software can crack passwords in very little time (see

    ).



    So, since Microsoft is security minded and protects your account data, they added proofs to secure your account. And, since Xbox LIVE accounts are built on top of Microsoft Account security, that applies to gamers like you and me. Proofs are:



    1) A phone # (preferably a cell # to text you a message - very convenient when away from home)

    2) An alternate email address (which can be used to send a password reset confirmation to)

    3) A 'Trusted PC' (requires Windows Vista or later + the free Microsoft Windows Live Essentials app - very optional and won't work on a Mac or Linux boxen)

    4) A Security Question and Secret Answer

    and clicking on Edit security info is a good idea.
