Security number change now can’t sign in

I don't like to give bad news but unfortunately this 30 days waiting time until your security information is updated can't be bypassed / make the wait shorter

You may need to wait until the time ends.
To avoid similar situation in the future the best option is always have your security information up to date and have more than one email or phone added as security verification

In that way if you lost one you can use the other

Why do i get banned for 30 days just chaning my phone number? This is so stupid, it has to be changed!

Or atleast give me a chance to remove my phone number completely

You will want to sign into her account at account.live.com

once there you can go to security in the blue bar at the top of the screen.

It will probably ask you to verify the account with a security code now if you do not have access to any of the security proofs (where MS is sending the code) then you can change the security proof BUT there would be a 30 day waiting period before the security
proof change takes affect.

You would still be able to sign into the account but anything that would require a security proof (changing password, phone numbers, security proofs) Once the 30 day hold is over at that point you would be able to do any of those things on the account because
the security proof would be changed at that point.

If you do have the capability of accessing the current security proof and can verify the account ownership with that then on the next page you would be able to change the current security proof you can have multiple security proofs (email addresses, Phone
numbers) so that if you do lose access to one you always have a back up.

I can’t find the more security options or the other security or apps and websites I see the security tab but then it just has 4 options sign in activity, password security, advanced security, stay secure with windows and I thought it might of been advanced but I can’t see any of the options I need

To change the phone number associated with your Microsoft account, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the Microsoft Account website (https://account.microsoft.com/) and sign in with your current credentials.
2. Click on the "Security" tab at the top of the page.
3. Under the "Security basics" section, click on "Update info" next to the phone number.
4. Enter your new phone number and select whether you want to receive the security code via text or call.
5. Enter the security code you receive and click "Next".
6. You will see a message confirming that your phone number has been updated.

That's it! Your phone number associated with your Microsoft account is now updated.
