Apologies now for seeming whiny to my fellow gamers. <3 Just want to vent some frustration maybe help some of you avoid future issues that you can avoid.

So I have had the same Xbox Live account since the service launch. Never had a reason to have a second account or re-create. Recently I needed to change my phone number as I moved from Sprint to Verizon. I log in, change my number and see, "This
will be complete in thirty days."I understand it's to protect us, but with no alternatives for identity confirmation like Blizzard and every other competent company in the United States and abroad 30 days is so asinine it's borderline humorous.

This wouldn't be completely unbearable, but I cannot make any other changes until this change completes, and those changes will ALSO take 30 days. I also cannot cancel this change, because to do so they want to text the phone number I no longer
    have.

The salt in the wounds here is that if you contact someone about this; live chat, email, or phone support, it does nothing. You're directed to someone (when live chatting or calling) who provides you an eye-roller of a name, "Hello, you're chatting
with John Smith, how can I help you?" The person you talk to is always in some call center somewhere and no, no, no, that alone doesn't bother me, I don't care where a person lives or comes from as I truly believe we're all human and equals. The issue I take
comes from the point where simply by Microsoft doing so, communication is far more difficult on occasion because of thick accents and language barriers. And if we're being honest even the accent doesn't bother me. Hell, I have a thing for accents. =P but sometimes
because we're on the phone I have to like ask them to repeat themselves numerous times, or repeat myself numerous times and I feel genuinely bad when either of us get frustrated doing so.

So because of all this, it's going to take 90... yes nine zero days to update my account completely. Which, I still have to borrow an Xbox 360 to change my associated email address because (and this is not sarcasm or misinformation) The largest tech
company in the United States has not figured out a way to do so without use of a 360 console. That's a quote straight from the horses mouth.

I love my Xbox despite how it appears, but their customer service and account security setup is unequivocally asinine, outdated, useless, and frustrating. It's crazy and I know we're all here because we love our Xbox, but they need to get it together
    big time.

    :)

    email and password

If you still can login on the xbox you should be able to see his email address under 'account' otherwise the only change you have is calling the customer service. A bit more info about security and you might wanna take a look at this: [View:]

    we still have it

Well ours is only a 2 not a 3 so you got us with the blue-ray but its not something we really got into that much. I am just used to it more (and the games) than anything else. I hate the idea of change but I am not too thrilled with their lack of customer service or security lately.

    Security Info Change

    Hi NL,

Thanks for coming to the forums with this great question. Following the 30 day period, you can definitely make more security changes to your account, if necessary. Of course, this would mean another 30 days, but really, there's no price on having a secure
account! If you no longer have access to that email associated with the account, it would be best to add another email that you do have access to, to be on the safe side, and of course, help out with account recovery and authentication.

Have a look at the following articles, as they're really good sources of information on this subject:

Update all of your Microsoft account security information

Add security information to your Microsoft account

Delete your Microsoft account security info

Verify the security information for your Microsoft account

Some of the information may be repetitive, but definitely useful for making your account secure. They'll also be a great resource when making any further changes.

I hope that this help out and please let us know if you have any further questions, as we'd be more than happy to help!

    Security Info Change

All of the account info should still be there, should just allow you to make further changes after the 30days. If this is false I am sorry. Hope this helps!

    Security Info Change

    Hi NL,

Thanks for the reply! The information in your account will remain the same, other than any changes you have made. Typically, if you've added a phone number or email, it can be in use in about 48 hours, but it takes that 30 day period to really engage so
as to protect your account from any hackers and such.

Hope that helps a bit more!
