    It would put you at less risk for being banned, but you'd still be violating the terms of service.

    It is not recommended and technically against the TOS so there is always the possibility of a ban. Buy an official hard drive or take the risk. It's up to you.

    I've seen people have freezing issues, or the hard drive causes the console to not function properly while it's plugged in. It's possible it could work fine, but you never know. If you do have any issues with it, Microsoft will not fix it.

    I get all of my games from xbox.com (my kids wreak cds) I dont have any original xbox games I have 75 of the almost 100 games (and counting) I purchased on my 250g hard drive but im out of space I just want to use that hard drive as storage to separate my
    kids games but I don't want to get banned for it
