second Controller and nowhere to read how to Play splitscreen in games like battleborn

hello,

my girlfriend wants to Play some games on xbox one with splitscreen, so i bought a second Controller and tried my luck yesterday with battleborn.... so success. What Settings are needed to Play games like rocket league or battleborn online (or offline) together
on splitscreen without having a second Gold account?

after over an hour i gave up. now i search on Google an Forums but nowhere is a how to or something which Shows how i can do this... the only Thing i find are screenshots aber Posts whish say "yeah, it works great" but realy i find nothing which explains
the HOW to me.

Im sure it works becaus i always see People in my games with 2 times the same battletag but one with (1), so it have to work somehow, but how?!

Xbox one - playing minecraf with multiplayer (split screen)

Hey there Robbie!

To play splitscreen multiplayer on Minecraft, hop into a world and turn on the second controller and a prompt asking the second controller to press the "menu" button should appear. After doing so, the game should immediately switch to splitscreen.

If you have a HDTV (which is needed for playing Minecraft in splitscreen-mode), then just:

1. Start a singleplayer-game with the first controller.

2. Log in with a profile on the second controller.

3. Press the "Start" button on the second controller.

4. Congrats, now you can play splitscreen.

 

When you get the second controller turned on, press the menu key, then have them either log in to their gamertag, or go over to a guest. Then either join an online match as usual, or go into exhibition. Make sure both controllers are synced and work correctly
