Season Passes need to go on Sale, too

Currently, all I ever see are the base digitial version of the game & the "premium" version of the game (which always includes 'Season Pass' content) go on sale. You're forgetting/ignoring a huge key market, in my opinion... Those like me, who have purchased
a physical copy of the game & would love to have the content of a Season Pass available at the same discounted price as the other 2 versions... And those who purchased a regular digital copy who would also like to have the Season Pass available to them at
the same discounted price as the other 2 versions...

So why is it that the only sale options involve the digital base game and/or the digital premium game only, with no separate season pass sale? As I said before, I think you're losing out on a whole other market of gamers with these "specials" where we, who
have already purchased the base game, are left out...

For example, I was really looking forward to seeing a discounted Season Pass for Arkham Knight (also been waiting for one for other games), but all we got this week were discounted versions of a digital download of the base game & digital download of the
premium game... I'd rather not have it than buy more than I need. So, you lose my money because you aren't considering my needs. Please tell me I'm not alone!

This "ultimate" sale is pretty disapponting, again. A good portion of these titles are either pretty much regularily on sale or have been on sale recently. There's a noticeable lack of season passes & DLC, too. How hard is it to put the season pass and/or
DLC content on sale when you have the deluxe editions on sale?

 

Who's getting Borderlands 2?

Are you confusing Season Pass with Online Pass? I am getting Borderlands 2, as for the Season Pass, I will wait until the first DLC releases, or it goes on sale, which ever happens first. So far I have only paid full price for one season pass, and that was
the Darksiders 2 pass. The LA Noire and GoW3 passes I both got on sale. Still waiting for the SR3 one to go on sale, I may have missed one already.

 

Season passes are a money grab as far as Im concerned. Just don't do it. I did buy the fallout season pass b4 it went up tho as for me it's worth it. It is a single player game after all...maps n such are not interesting to me...

 

They do discount dlc and season passes sometimes but must admit not as much as they do on ps4 I got batman season pass for £14 and watchdogs for £5"

 

They've done it with "Evolve", "Batman: Arkham Knight", "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate" and others.

You just have to keep an eye out.

I was so impressed by the Hardened Edition of COD on the 360 that I bought the full bells and whistles packs for "Ghosts" and "Battlefield 4".

And while I did play the DLC I can also say with absolute certainty that I would be no poorer for having never touched this content.

While many people are pulling faces that "Hitman" is being released in stages... at least for regular game price you get all the content that's being released for it.

 

I'm wary of any game that requires you to pay up front for content that is only a promise.

Whether a season pass or a more content later game like Hitman, you only have the publishers word that this content is coming, or even being worked on.

I just can't bring myself to pay for a promise. I'll wait until the game is complete and then likely pick up a content complete edition for half the price it cost at release.

If the Publisher was "Jerry's Bright Ideas" trying to sell this model of "Hitman" to me I'd be wary but it's not.

It's Square Enix working with Microsoft and an established franchise so I won't be jumping at my own shadow.

In 7 or 8 months you've got a great game to enjoy.

The best option is wait 1 year after the game is released because all of the DLC usually ends up being part of the $66.00 purchase

I paid -->

$66.00 for the base game

$44.00 for the season pass (The Dark Below & House Of Wolves)

$44.00 for The Taken King

...........

New Destiny players paid $66.00 for all of the stuff that I just previously mentioned.

...........

Day one owners / early owners will always pay more than those that purchase the same game 1 year after it has been released.

I appreciate your responses, and do agree that season passes are generally a money grab, but it seems EVERY game now has a season pass.

Sometimes after I play a game, I like it enough to want to play that content. I would never buy a season pass up front before playing a game (and usually I play games after they've been out for a few months) or at full price. The problem with waiting for
the bundles to go on sale is, for me at least, I buy physical copies of games. Am I the only one who prefers physical releases?

Also, the times Season Passes have gone on sale, aren't those usually right after a game is released, the first time they put the game & it's content on sale? So those of us who wait to play are left out when there's another sale but it's just a base game
& premium game on sale with no season pass or DLC sale?

To summarize - why not simply put up a discount DLC/Season Pass when the base version & premium versions of the games go on sale? It doesn't make sense to me to not... People like me may be a niche market judging by these responses, but we're still a market...

 

You make a good point Az that the company behind Hitman is an established one but I still can't bring myself to do it.

In a way I suppose I have a short attention span and if a game hooks me I will keep playing it until it stops. And episodic content, even with good replay value, stops quite quickly.

The same happened with The Walking Dead. I really enjoyed the games but the gaps were just too big between episodes to hold my attention. When they were all released I played through in a run and then started again to try another path with Lee.

So I'm going wait on Hitman until the content is all available. I just don't want to burn out on a game too quickly.

 

Season passes need to be abolished all together. Honestly, the way things are going I'm tempted to go back to piracy on the PC and legit japanese games on console. Did any of you get the blops 3 season pass? Well you still need to play the poker machine
with craptokeys just to get the DLC weapons, This is beyond the season pass.

 

Didn't get the season pass, though I did buy "Awakening"; really don't know if the game will keep my interest for all the map packs.

Was wondering where the new weapons were. Keeps trying to point me to the store to "buy" them, though could never find them. I have to gamble with cryptokeys that might just cost real money? That's hilarious...or criminal. Lol.
