Season Passes always available?

I was wondering if season passes will always be available if I eventually decide to purchase all the DLC for a single game at a discount or will I possibly have to purchase each one individually after a period of time

BF4 - Does it work yet?

I bought cod, as I always do, also the season pass, as always! Then a friend convinced me to try bf4, beginning to regret the cod season pass purchase! Although being a new console I'm likely to invest more money than previous years so I'll buy the bf4 season
pass too eventually.

 

Season passes, in my experience, generally last for a very long time (if not for the entire lifespan of the game itself).

It also depends on the game, MW3 has DLC, however to play on the multiplayer you have to switch the DLC off.

Also don't expect discounts for DLC, expecially if your wanting them through the MS store, I mean old CODs is still full price on there.

 

Davey, I owned MW3 and NEVER had any issues playing multiplayer with the DLC - I don't even recall having the ability to "turn it off" as you say.

Also, season passes ARE the discounts on DLC - you buy all of the DLC for a lower price than if you had bought them all separately (conversely you can buy some of the DLC that you prefer and still save money).

Have you played it lately, since 1 year after MW3 was launched, you try and get a game with the DLC on, you will be in a lobby a very log time, switch it off and you get one instantly. (just been there and had to do it, DLC on MW3 now is pointless (IW allows
you to switch it off 3arc dont))

You switch the DLC off by hitting the back button in the lobby before you search for a game, it says at the bottom of the screen.

The OP IMO is asking because they are buying the DLC late, they are going to expect it (in their words) at a discount, and IMO Season passes for some games don't get discounted, I was simply explaining they are unlikely to get season passes at a discount
from the MS store at least, retailers are different)

 

I only asked because I am still enjoying many base games I have. For example, say in a year I want to get Titanfall's DLC; however rather than pay $30 for 3 separate DLC ($10 a piece) I am wondering if I could still pick up the season pass for $25 and save
myself a little cash if I intended on buying all 3 anyways

 

It tends to vary by game, some publishers will allow you to treat the season pass as a bundle, others will be available for a limited time before giving you the chance to get it early or miss it.

Also, in regards to discounted DLC; yes Season Passes are essentially an ongoing discount but it's not unusual at all for packs to be price cut either. I'm sure the CoD4 map pack was half price at one point as a special offer and I'm positive that all of
the Fallout 3 packs have been on sale at least once.

 

Dlc has been on sale pretty regular for me. Tons of stuff @ 50-75% off. Maybe not season passes but... If you wanna buy a season pass a year or after release you might wanna check the game's active community. Usually by then a new iteration of the game is
out and the population of that former game is dwindled. It seems this only applies to FPS games tho. Skyrim and fallout dlc were just on sale. Old games sure, but way more depth, and worth the cost...

 

I'm waiting for dlc... if the 360 is anything to go by if i wait long enough i will get it all with at least 25/50% off if not more, i remember last year the bf3 season pass went in a sale and was around 29.99 as opposed to the 40 it's normally at, the only
games i didnt wait for the dlc for was Zombie maps for cod, skyrim dlc and fallout dlc and even those al went on sale eventually but i got my moneys worth out of them at least.

I always turned dlc off in mw3, i found i got better matches and games and got into full ground wars quicker just playing the normal maps for some reason

 

I tend to avoid DLC and season passes myself. Their concepts annoy me, greatly. If the cost was reduced considerably then I would be more inclined to invest but for games that have locked on disc content or content that was finished prior (or near to) release,
I hate it. Now if a developer makes content post-release and really puts in the effort to make an expansion that is worth the added cost and time, I would have a different view. Woah, I ranted.

In answer to your question. Season passes as far as I am aware last as long as the game does. As GG put it, the lifespan of the title. Though as pointed out, shop around before committing to purchase just to see what deals can be had.
