Season pass

Hi All,

Just wanted to ask a question about the season pass, I haven't played console games to the point of buying a pass before, usually play on PC, when redeeming the season pass it basically added £35 to my account, I assume that there is a code hidden away somewhere
that gives you the £2.50 discount on each expansion as it is released?

Would I be right in my thinking?

Your wording has me a bit confused... how did you "redeem" the pass? When you say that 35P was added to your account, are you referring to your MS account?

I bought the Digital Guardian Edition which came with the season pass. It is a flat fee and when the DLC becomes available you can just select to download it.

 

Just to add on to what Eggnogga said, buying the season pass pays for the dlc right then. $35 is the discounted price buy the 2 expansions separately would cost at least $40. If you buy the expansion pass when the dlc is actually released you just download
it, it will not have a price on it at all. If you have not already got Destiny and plan on getting the expansion pass you should check into the digital guardian edtion it saves $5 versus buying the game and expansion pass separately.

 

Wubber, no. The 35 is credited to your account. You still have to purchase the season pass which can be done through the game or the store.

The season pass will allow you to bypass purchasing each expansion.

 

when i paid for the Digital guardian edition from gamestop. they simply sent me a code i used the code . that added a pre set amount to my account. i then used the amount to buy the game from XBL. when i was done i had 1 cent left. i expect it is a exchange
rate thing. you can pre pay for the add ons and when they become available they auto download and become accessible when they go live

 

This was confusing for me as well. I pre-ordered Destiny at Gamestop with the expansion pass. When I went to pick up my game the clerk told me that Microsoft told Gamestop they had to add about $4 to the expansion pass and I had to pay that much more to
get the game I had already paid for. Then when I entered the code for the expansion pass last night it said I had added $39.99 (price of expansion pack pre-order plus the extra Microsoft charge after the fact) to my Microsoft account. It didn't say I had ordered
the expansion pack or had it in cue for whenever it comes out. What is Microsoft doing?

 

now go to the market place and use that money to buy the items. when you prepay for a digital game from gamestop all your really paying for is the funds to be transferred into your XBL wallet. you then use those funds to buy what ever you want in the marketplace.
there basically simply selling you prepaid game card codes. then they send you the pre order item codes in your email. in the future unless your doing it just for preorder bonuses just buy it straight from XBL. less steps and less confusing. it got me the
first time i did it as well. when BF4 came out and i bought the digital version from Gamestop,

 

Sorry for my post that didn't answer the question I misunderstood what the issue was. Gamestop is funny about that its very odd. They should just call a thing what it is.

If that is how Gamestop did it then what they did was false advertising that turned into a bait and switch when Microsoft denied their special after the fact. They sold me the expansion pack for less on sale with the pre-order. Very bad.

 

I'm not sure why this is how it is being done, the only thing I can think of is that currently that might be the only way distributors like GameStop can get credit for selling digital copies of games as they don't have the ability to actually sell you the
digital copy themselves via some app on Xbox One. This may or may not change, but I am pretty sure the only reason that games up until Destiny have not been available for digital pre-order is due to the whining that companies like GameStop have been doing
about losing physical sales to digital. Microsoft and Sony both want to keep as many avenues of sales happy as possible, but I'm sure the evolution to continue to find a happy medium for all.

 

it just puts the cash in your account and then you download it from the store. then you download the 2 expansion packs from the store! they are already available!

It is just how it is being marketed then "Season pass" but you have to download them and the code within the QR code that is scanned sets up the discount.
