    Check:

    • Cable for any fraying, breaking, connector damage
    • console port for any grime, dust, connector damage
    • router settings
    • router port for dust, grime, connector damage

    It could really be any of them but I hope it's just a bad ethernet cable and it is the most likely.

    No. The system is designed to only do a search by the Gamertag only. The sign in email address for the account is not searchable. It's also a security feature so no one but you, the account owner, knows the sign in email address for the account.

    Grime and dirt may be causing it to stick. Qtips & Alcohol wipes work for me.

    Check around the triggers for grime and caked in dirt and clean them with qtips and wipes to free them up. If it's not dirty, the controller is probably faulty.
