    Seagate Hard drive becoming a real pain


    Yesterday, after coming home from work, my seagate hard drive started acting funny. Every time i would try to play a game or use an app, it would always "take too long to startup". Even the idle feature would take too long too startup. I couldn't even go
    to the settings or help apps. After resetting my Xbox a few times, nothing had changed. The hard drive cant be recognized as a hard drive for games and apps, only for media. If i try to turn it into one for games and apps, it just disappears into infinity.
    I plugged it into my hp chrome laptop and it was instantly recognized but if i try to download anything on it or format it, my laptop either doesn't allow the download to go through or just goes back to the sign-in screen. I've went through tons of troubleshooting
    and nothing seems to work. I heard that you need to change it from NTFS to fat32 but I cant do that since i don't have a windows computer. I cant use the app that seagate offers because there isn't one for chromeOS. I'm just really annoyed at this point and I
    just want my 3TB external hard drive to work again so I can redownload all my games and apps on it. Is there any way I can fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

    im disappointed in lack of SSD.

    Seagate just debuted a new tech called HAMR. it uses heat to increase the amount of storage in hard drives... I seriously look forward to the price of SSD's dropping in a few years as the tech becomes used widely...

    USB hard drives, not even the Seagate "official" USB drive work.

    Only real internal Xbox 360 hard drives from Microsoft work.

    Also beware that especially on sites like ebay or Amazon Marketplace, some third party hard drives are sold.

    Often, these drives do NOT have the necessary Xbox Emulator on them, so the Xbox games still won't work.

    Make sure you really get an original Xbox 360 internal hard drive.

    If your Seagate 2TB external hard drive is NOT detected on any of the USB ports on your Xbox console or PC then it is likely that it has become defective. If the unit is within the warranty period then you can contact Seagate to do a warranty repair/replacement.
    When they issue you a RMA then you send your defective drive to their repair depot and they send you back a replacement (this may be a refurbished unit).
