Seagate External Hard Drive

Thinking of getting a new external hard drive for my xbox one and was thinking about this one:

4tb Seagate external hard drive

I bought a 2tb external hard drive last year and have had no problems but recently purchased a 4tb Seagate external hard drive due to insufficient storage for my games but the 4tb Seagate external hard drive is listed as media storage ie photos video's and
documents I tried to format and rename it but can't get that option as I can with the 2tb external hard drive please let me know what I can do about this.

 

I'm using a 2tb Seagate and its great mate. Well worth it.

 

Yes I've heard good things about Seagate hard drives and I'll probably buy one of them but have you looked on Amazon that one looks expensive compared to Amazon unless I'm missing something ?

 

I'm using one with no issues, works a treat.

 

Im using that exact drive and its been flawless since the day that external use went live in the preview program. I also use a 2TB version on my 360, and it works great too.

I recommend using an SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Seagate Expansion HDD; Instead of External Seagate Backup Plus HDD, that has embedded software partition on HDD for PC etc.

Technology is advancing so fast now that I wouldn't be surprised if there was a 10 TB or larger External HDD by this time next year LOL

There are 10TB NAS HDDs on the market already, that are effectively an external HDD used specifically for commercial/business RAID setups etc.

 

Not sure why in all the information they give you there's no info about the RPM's.

This is important with Seagate because they do a 5600 rps and a 7200 rps.

The one I got from Amazon was the 7200 one. But if I'd gone to PC world I would have paid more... for the slower one.

Try and get that information before you go and commit to a purchase.

Also, Major Nelson has a Seagate and it works great for him. I have a Seagate and it works great for me.

But Western Digital make even better ones according to a buddy of mine who works in IT.

 

I changed my mind and got an external 5TB seagate backup plus drive (plugs into the wall). it was only 170 and got an extra TB of space compared to the one I posted above. Thanks for the comments though.
