    Seagate 8TB Port Melting!


    Hello everyone, I bought this Seagate 8TB hard drive from the Microsoft store less than a month ago and the port from the drive to the Xbox has melted?! The wire no longer stays in and also it doesn’t work at all. It seems some have the pins have melted
    inside, or fallen off. If anyone can help me with this, whether I can get a refund or get it repeired, let me know please. (UK)

    External drives

    I know you can go as high as 8TB on Xbox One as I use the Seagate 8TB Backup Hub model that has two USB ports on the front. I also like this model as the Seagate logo on the front lights up and dims during activity. I also have the Seagate 3 TB model without
    USB ports which has an activity LED on the top which is difficult to see especially if you stack your external harddrives (I put felt pads on horizontal bottom to act as feet).

    I'd be surprised that Windows 10 can't go higher than 3 TB as that is relatively low on the external storage side of things these days.

    X1X - External USB Storage problem producing a "connection too weak error" and the broken UI handling it.

    I am using non powered 4TB Seagate and a powered 8TB Seagate and so fsr no problems at all...

    I have a WD 8TB and a Seagate 8TB hard drive, no issues. Max overall is 16TB. You could in theory get a 10TB and a 6TB hard drive.

    Xbox One X (2-5tb HDD/1-2tb SSD)

    The size of the internal HDD is enough to get started however it will likely never be enough for a serious gamer. I added dual 3TB Seagate's to my Xbox One when the option became available, one to use and one to backup. I eventually filled the 3TB HDD
    and upgraded to dual 8TB Seagate's with two built-in USB 3.0 ports.
