    Hi guys

I've purchased a 4T Seagate External HD for my XBOX 1.

I've connected to the console but it did not recognize it.

I've tried to recognize it manually in "settings" but i did not find it.

I've tried with force-reset the console but it did not work.

The drive is new and the USB cable too. Just out of its package. When i try to connect it, it begins to do a stange noise "bip-bip-bip" but it doesn't work.

Somebody please has an answer for this?

    Thanks to everybody

    :)

Got one for ya. I had a Seagate external HDD ( 2TB ), used it since they first announced the external storage, no problems! Then, last week, the Xbox wouldn't detect it. So after trying everything, I bought another one, a Western Digital 2 TB 3.5" internal
with a USB 3.0 docking station. It worked great, picked up on the Xbox quickly. Now a week later, it's doing the same as the first one, no longer detecting, if I'm lucky, I can turn it off and back on, then it works, SOMETIMES. I have over 75 games on my account,
that's a lot to download and re-install all the time. Another thing I might add, I just got into the preview program 2 weeks ago. I'm thinking that might be causing the issue. Anyone else have this problem, or even a fix?

Can you please try connecting the external drive to a PC to see if it works when connected to eliminate a possible issue with the drive.

Seagate 4t game drive for Xbox s

If it's a Series S that you're using, any Series S/X optimized games can only be played from the internal drive or an expansion card made for the console. Regular hard drives will not run those games. They can only store them.

I did figure this out even know it was a year ago I'm going to reply. What you have to do is go to settings, click system, manage storage, you should see the hard drive on the right the rest explains it self.

    that's disappointing.

Do you have any idea if it's an incompatibility with the drive or the xbox firmware? If it's the firmware it might be patched in an update..

I could look into returning it, but I am now just curious about the cause of the issue.
