    Seagate 2Tb External Hard Drive Issues * Recommend people avoid Seagate for the time being *


    It seems I'm not the only one having issues with the Xbox 360 recognising the Seagate 2TB External Drives.

    I've tried everything I can think of - formatting via Mac - Windows - FAT32 - Cluster Sizes etc. etc

    As soon as you attach the hard drive it just says unformatted and refuses to format the drive - error unable to process request ?

    Has anyone been able to resolve this issue ?

    xbox360 external usb HDD still not any brand working?

    Seagate hard drives are the only ones known to cause issues, but any other external hard drive should be fine. You can only use up to 2TB though.

    There have always been issues with Seagate drives. I would think this is more due to manufacturing than issues with the console.

    Dam it, I hope there is a fix for this as I got seagate 2tb for the xbox($99) knew I should have paid the extra for WD...

    I have 4, 500gb seagate hard drives, taken from skyHD boxes, all work with my 360 slim with no problems.

    I formatted the drives on my PC and then used a programme to convert them to FAT32.

    Not sure if i can give the name of the programme on here, ask me via private message if you want to give it a try.
