I am soooooo mad! I am a Pirate Legend in Sea of Theives. I have had the game for nearly a year. This last week I changed my gamertag. Now the game acts like I don't own it. Figured to delete & re-download the game. No good. It wants me to buy it again.
I have now paid to have my gamertag changed back. AND IT STILL WILL NOT WORK.

Sea of thieves alpha invite

Hi! I just got sent over from sea of thieves forum and the problem is that i recieved an invite to play Sea Of Thieves Alpha, but i cant download the game. According to the people in Sea Of Thieves forum is my gamertag. At the 13th
of june i signed up for the alpha but i did not verify me email at the time, and now i finally got the invite. So i followed the steps the email todl me to do. And when i signed in to the xbox insder hub, I got the option to pick a gamertag (This is the major
problem here). Because i changed my gamertag I now cant download the game, either i'm not in the alpha anymore. So after 1 day of waitng for answers from the Sea Of Thieves forum admins i finally got a answer. With a link to a forum post with a soulution.
That soulution was to check the first mail i recieved from Sea of Thieves and click the Verify button to see what my first gamertag was. So ofc i did that because i want to play. And there from i got my first gamertag i had before i accendently changed it.
But they say they cant help me because it's a gamertag issue. So please can someone help me out here!!!

Are you sure you "only" changed the Gamertag, and not created a new Microsoft Account by accident?

Can you go to
https://commerce.microsoft.com and check your purchase history? Since that page contains your tax relevant purchase information your purchases have to be visible there.

If you can't see the game, and you are sure you bought the game, you probably used a different Microsoft Account email.

Sea of Thieves names can take some time to update after the gamertag they're conncected to has been changed. If your Sea of Thieves name doesn't update, maybe try looking at their support website at https://support.seaofthieves.com/hc/en-gb and
contact them if need be

Not a bad mixpot for a small show i take the gears pop any day won't play sea of thieves again. I know you get both but still don't want to play sea of thieves again.

Sea of Thieves in Alpha, and it would be linked to your account not the specific name of the gamertag. Did you change your e-mail too?

Thank you for contacting the Xbox Support forums. Before I try to assist, I do have a few questions.

1) Are you playing Sea of Thieves on PC or Xbox?
2) When you previously played Sea of Thieves, was that also through Game Pass? Or was it purchased elsewhere?

3) When you originally played Sea of Thieves, was it through the same Gamertag that is now an active Game Pass subscriber?
