Sea of Thieves won't open

This is about the 4th time this has reoccurred after resolving the issue with Microsoft support and Xbox support. I have no idea why it continues to happen, but I cannot open Sea of Thieves whenever I don't play it for a couple of months. The first time it happened, the Microsoft store "forgot" I owned it, the error being a lost product key with my account. Despite having and providing receipt to support, it took 24 hours of on and off phone calls and reboots and messing with my files, to ultimately amount to nothing on their part and for it to randomly start working again. It happened the next 2 times, and now there's a new error, seemingly data corruption, how do I fix this and why would this continue to occur?

Not a bad mixpot for a small show i take the gears pop any day won't play sea of thieves again. I know you get both but still don't want to play sea of thieves again.

I think it is because you are trying to download Sea of thieves instead of the anniversary edition.

Try this:

Open the Microsoft Store(No the gamepass app), then search for Sea of thieves: Anniversary Edition and try to download that.

That option is not there for Sea of Thieves when I launch it. I do see the option for other programs like Discord or Firefox, but when I open the game bar while focused on Sea of Thieves, I just see "Sea of Thieves" with no option to remember it is a game checked or unchecked.

You are correct that I am on the steam version of Sea of Thieves. Game bar does detect that I am playing this.

I invite or join games by using the gamebar's Xbox Social window, right click the person, select Join game.
