    Sea of Thieves is my favourite game to play, but for the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to play it for 10 minutes before my Xbox loses xbox live connection. Whenever I play any other online game it's perfectly fine, but I haven't been able to

    Games pass and live gold confusion

    Game Pass is a subscription service to get access to games including Sea of Thieves.

    Gold is a subscription service to be able to play online. Sea of Thieves is an online only game and would require gold to be able to play it.

    Unless he own Sea of Thieves by itself, he needs both.

    sea of thieves is an online only game, so if playing via console you need gold to play online.
