    Sea of Thieves Gives a Black Screen at the Launch and Crashes


    I've been experiencing an issue where, when I try to open the game, it greets me with the logo and then goes on a black screen. After a few seconds, the game crashes. This happened after the 2019 anniversary update and I don't know how to fix this problem.

    I had this problem it stopped doing it after the update from yesterday. May 8th. it should work fine for you now maybe? I sure hope it does.

    If it doesn't try restarting your Xbox by holding the power button for 20 seconds. or restart the game till it stops crashing X3 I die the last one as my friend was slowly completing our tall tale

    Hi there,

    If this happens on the Xbox One console then please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console

    If that doesn't help try to see what happens if the game is started by a different profile (if you have multiple) if the game does start then it could be save game related, you could try removing your local save game and start the game and it should download
    it from Xbox Live.

    If it's on PC, try restarting the PC and perhaps reinstalling the game
