    Sea of Thieves Freezing and unplayable


    For some reason whenever I'm tabbed into the game it constantly is freezing, I think this is due to fps drops. Whenever the game freezes I am able to click on my second monitor or press the windows key causing it to un-focus the game, and whenever I do that it unfreezes the game and goes back to normal. An example is when the opening video is playing my game freezes but when I'm un-focused from the game it plays smooth and normally. I have looked all over the internet for solutions but nothing seems to work. I've also tried playing with cursed graphics but it doesn't help fix it.

    -Gigabyte 2070 Super

    -Ryzen 7 2700x

    -Rog Strix B450-f Gaming

    -Corsair Vengeance 32gb

    Hi, i had been having this problem for days, I figured it out, nvidia overlay is messing it up, turn off instant replay, or if you use an external c lipping system turn it off. WORKS PERFECTTT!!!

    Wanted to confirm whether the problem is still occurring with a couple more questions that can help me support your issue:

    1. How recent did you download the game? Did this issue start after upgrading to Windows 11? Are you using Windows 11 or Windows 10?
    2. Do you think there may be a game setting that may not be interacting well with the platform? I would submit a ticket to RARE to have them review your problem on their end to confirm they know about this issue. At the bottom of this page is a "Still need help?     in my case, it was Gforce experience replay. turn it off and it runs perfectly.

    Others have pointed it out but the solution is to disable geforce experience instant replay. Whatever they do to capture those game clips breaks everything lol.
