Sea of Thieves Controller missing battery cover

I thought I should post this to alert people. I just got home after picking up my Sea of Thieves Controller from GameStop in Canada, and I found the battery cover missing. I cannot explain this as the box did not look to be tampered with. GameStop is going
to replace the controller, but if anyone else is going to pick one up make sure your battery cover is in the box before leaving the store.

Using Microsoft store

Just send the basic controller, don`t include any of the accessories. Definitely don`t send the battery back with it, or even the battery cover as I`ve known people get a controller back from repair with the battery cover missing.

Same problem here.

If You try to start a cloud game of Sea of Thieves via an invitation the app tells the controller is missing.

The controller is there and trhe app shows it is there.

Starting Sea if Thieves not via an invitation everthing is fine and you can play.

Unfortunately there is no way to accept an invitation from inside the game so you are pretty much locked out from beeing invited.

Is it not allowing you to download any version of Sea of Thieves at all? While they don't list it as the "Anniversary Edition" any longer, isn't everything that was there just a part of regular Sea of Thieves currently? If not, what is missing?

My best advice, would be to remove the batteries from the controllers, until you are ready to use them. I have funnily enough, had some issues with the new-ish Sea of Thieves controller, faking that it's running out of battery life, but when I remove my
Xbox battery pack, and re-insert it, it shows as full..

Try looking at the contact points of your battery caddy - make sure that they are clean and shiny, and make good contact.
