    Hello fellow gamers! So... Were do i begin.

    For start, i do not own game pass but another account does, that owned the Xbox one X before me / my friend. So i downloaded SoT in the Game Pass store but with another account (my account) . I downloaded the Anniversary Edition
    and played with MY account but it kept freezing all the time and put me back to home screen. I could sometimes play like up to 3 hours but sometimes it even froze in the SoT main menu.

    I tried almost EVERYTHING that Microsoft suggested, Restart the console, deleted my account and redownloaded it again, deleted SoT and redownloaded it again but it keeps freezing and it was SO ANNOYING! I just wanted to play with my friend!

    So i deleted SoT AGAIN and bought SoT (standard edition i guess) of someone on Facebook marketplace, those downloadable codes things. Thinking it had something to do with am not he owner of Game Pass. But... It kept freezing. Tried the same thing with this
    game, deleting and redownloaded everything but it is all the same, we have fun, and then it freezes, and put me back to home screen.

    What should i do?? I really just want to play with my friends and I do not care if i lose any progress or anything in Sea of Thiefs as long as it works...

    Hi there

    I've had this problem before I had to redownload the game when I had this issue. Please be sure your subscription thing is up to date and there is no outstanding balance.
    Already tried redownloading the game AND my profil. As i said in the text, first i downloaded the game on Gamepass but i do not own Gamepass but another account does on the xbox? Can it be something with that?

    But then i deleted SoT and bought a redeemable code of the internet and downloaded that standard edition but it is all the same, freezes.

    Not sure if you have tried it before, but have you deleted your saved game(on the console and in the cloud)? Perhaps it became corrupted somehow.
    Thats the thing! Sea of thiefs does not have any "saved data"

    Can it have something to do with it is a live service game?

    i had this happen to me ,,, but removing it then re-downloading it sorted it out but i did put it on a
    external SSD drive second time round
    Hm, yhea i could try that, don't know if i have an SSD or the other "normal" HDD? But i will give it a try, thanks!
