sea of theives crashing/ freezing

for the past week when I have tried to play sea of theives it just hasn't worked. when I finish the entry cutscene my game either crashes to my home screen, or plays a loud buzzing noise and then crashes. I have hard and soft restarted my console, uninstall and reinstalled, even reset it completely. both my console and my game are up to date. I dont know if it's an issue because it was bought for me as a gift as I don't have gamepass or what but ive found nothing that could help me. any help would be amazing I just want to fish again.

Seems like you have performed all the necessary steps. Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause issues as well.

Also, even if the game was from a gift that shouldn't be a problem.

Sot means sea of theives this was a twitch drop. I said the game SOT sea of theives

I did as you said reinstalled gaming services and then i went to the sea of thieves tab and it crashed again so no result.

Also sea of theives appears "ready to download" in my library but when i click on it nothing happens.
